Topic of Masterclass No 2

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) White Paper explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). It provides an overview of core AI types relevant to urban safety, analyzes potential risks when these technologies are integrated into CPTED strategies, and proposes a new framework for ethical AI use in CPTED practice. By grounding analysis in human-centered values and lived experience, the paper outlines a proactive roadmap for the International CPTED Association (ICA) to engage, guide, and govern AI’s influence in crime prevention design.
