Alcohol consumption sites

Does anyone have any experience looking at the CPTED issues that would either lead to, or perhaps result from, a community building an alcohol consumption site? Looking for examples of both staffed (i.e. harm reduction) or unstaffed (just a designated area with access to a bathroom). Thoughts?

    Hi Jane,

This post must have hidden somewhere - let's try to revive it.

Did you have any success in finding any examples to support your research? I don't know of any examples for community involvement in generating consumption sites but I am familiar with some research relating to responsible alcohol practices and inclusion of CPTED in and around drinking establishments. This probably isn't what you're after?

    Cheers,

Thank you Russel for offering - I hope Jane sees your message and contacts you.

I think it would be beneficial for a lot of us to see some material on this topic - if you're willing to share here, that'd be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

I would like to to see this information as well.

I am not sure I really understand the question or where you are. In my municipality there is no public drinking unless someone has a license and blocks off the area where they are drinking.

Additionally we have a few groups considering a program like MAP (Managed Alcohol Program). This type of program supplies a specific amount of alcohol to their clients.....just enough to stave off DTs and withdrawal.  I do know there are a few in Canada.....would have to do more work digging up exactly where.
